Bunbury’s netball community faced a significant infrastructure challenge with their original 1980s courts at Hay Park falling well short of modern netball standards. The worn surfaces no longer met Netball Australia’s stringent playing surface requirements, creating performance and safety concerns that demanded urgent netball court resurfacing.
This netball court resurfacing project required complete demolition of existing courts and construction of a new 12-court complex. The scale of the upgrade reflected the facility’s importance as a central hub for Bunbury’s growing netball community.
With support from the City of Bunbury, Bunbury Netball Association, and State Government, the comprehensive redevelopment needed to deliver championship-standard surfaces. The project demanded a surface solution that could handle intensive weekly competition schedules while maintaining consistent performance standards year-round.
