California Sports Surfaces Partners Celebrate 14 Wins at the 2026 SAPIA Industry Awards

Fourteen court projects built with California Sports Surfaces acrylic systems have been recognized at the 2026 SAPIA Industry Awards, with wins across the acrylic surfacing and construction categories for domestic and commercial builds in every state.

The Sports & Play Industry Association (SAPIA) is the peak industry body for sports and recreation construction in Australasia, covering design, construction, maintenance and surfacing. Its annual Industry Awards celebrate the work of SAPIA members achieving excellence in these areas and the industry’s continued growth around Australia.

California Sports Surfaces has been a proud SAPIA member for many years, and this year’s results reflect the strength of the installer network we work alongside every day.

This year’s top-placed projects cover courts of every kind, with club facilities, community and private residential courts all represented among the winners.Schools also continue to invest heavily in reinventing their sporting facilities, and both St Aloysius’ College and Highview College were recognized for the high-quality installations delivered by our approved applicators.

Netball facilities were well represented, among them West Ryde Netball, Toowoomba Netball and Brisbane Netball Association – all of which placed highly in their categories. It remains one of the region’s most played sports, and one we’ve long had a strong presence in as the largest surface supplier for its outdoor facilities in Australia.

Other celebrated facilities include West Melton Tennis Club, Modbury Tennis Club, and Wollongong Regional Tennis Centre (previously Beaton Park). Pickleball’s rapid growth also continues to drive demand nationwide, with the new courts Everleigh Sports Centre awarded for outstanding construction.

Residential courts in Bendigo, Mittagong, Junortoun and Mornington were recognized as well, as a reminder of the award-winning work being delivered in regional Australia.

SAPIA’s Innovation category included one of the year’s most unique builds, where our portable interlocking court system was installed for the Paddock, a driver’s area at the 2026 Australian Grand Prix. Projects like this reflect an industry that’s evolving faster every day, finding new ways to turn the impossible into a reality.

CoolTop, Plexipave and Rebound Ace all featured across the results, each surface system chosen to suit the unique project demands. We’ve built a legacy between them that began with Plexipave and Rebound Ace, trusted at the highest levels of Australian sport over several decades for their durability and consistent performance. CoolTop continues that story forward, developed and refined locally and now a fixture on a variety of courts right across the country.

These results are a testament to the skill and dedication of the installers and approved applicators who continually bring our surface systems to life on site. We’re very grateful for the depth and quality of our installer network, and for the relationships that consistently raise the standard for sport surfaces in Australia and globally.
