There are only 30 days left for the beginning of the much-anticipated 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, where DecoTurf has been selected as the tennis surface.
This year also marks the 25 anniversary of the first time California Sports Surface was chosen as the surface for the Olympic Games: The year was 1996 and Plexipave was the tennis surface at the Stone Mountain Tennis Center Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
The venue hosted both Olympics and Paralympics tennis events that year and beat out Seoul for max capacity at 12,000. It boasted a 7,200 seat center court in addition to 15 other courts. The USA topped the medal chart for the third Olympics straight and tied Spain in the medal count for the second. However, all of the USA medals were gold.
