California Sports Surfaces Dominates Tennis Industry / American Sports Builders Association’s 2018 “Facility Of The Year” Awards

Andover, Mass. – June 15, 2018 – California Sports Surfaces, a part of Innovative Chemical Products (the ICP Group) and ICP Construction, has been recognized in the Tennis Industry magazine/American Sports Builders Association’s Distinguished Facility-Of-The-Year Awards. Up to 10 awards are given each year to outdoor hard-court sports facilities that have a proven track record of promoting excellence in construction and hold ASBA memberships. This year, nine of the 10 award-winning facilities listed California Sports Surface as their court provider. Judging for the competition is extremely strict. The project description, difficulty and obstacles of construction, and the solutions to those challenges all factor into the judges’ decisions. If the judges don’t feel that any of the completed installations reviewed are worthy of awards, they are not required to award them.

“We genuinely enjoyed partnering with the architectural, engineering, construction, and contracting companies for each job. Our reputation for having the highest quality and most innovative sports surface technology in the industry only strengthens when our customers win awards for their innovative installations,” said Zain Mahmood, President of ICP Construction.

The winners were published in Tennis Industry magazine along with a brief description of the installation, location, project challenges, and solutions. Two schools were recognized with the contest’s highest honors – silver and bronze awards. Hudsonville High School in Hudsonville, Mich., won the Silver Award. Kearney High School, in Kearney, Mo., won the Bronze Award. California Sports Surfaces served as the tennis court surface provider for both top winners.

“I’m very proud of our partners and everything we accomplished together. I hope they have continued success and look forward to working with them on future projects,” said Steve Lock, Global VP, California Sports Surfaces.
